Raw Images from Japanese Fashion Editorials

This is spread of fashion editorials from a Japanese magazine strikes my eye for its photography, styling and theme. The photography isn’t too polished or finished; it is raw, real and engaging. Feeling more like emerging talent as opposed to a fashion editorial, they look like spontaneous fashion moments captured on film. I admire the “lack of professionalism”. It is consistent with the values of Yohji Yamamoto–the virtue that perfection is inhuman, and that distortion and scars are aesthetically beautiful. 



  1. Oh my god I’m in love with the wintry dress in the very first photo- with the snow and deer, so enchanting. Do you personally know any places to buy similar fashion to this? In Tokyo or elsewhere, even online? (:
